Software Development Manager - Web Services
Position Summary:
Improves
business processes and supports critical business strategies by managing the
development, implementation, and maintenance of customer facing web services
applications. Leads multiple projects and oversees developers to ensure that
specifications are met. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work
of team assigned to the Web Services .net / java based systems. A wide degree of
creativity and latitude is expected
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensures that
CRST’s software development lifecycle methodology is followed by the development
team.
- Provides
initial scope and project estimates for work requests received from the
clients.
- Schedule
resources for projects and work requests in the department.
- Keep
management informed of project statuses.
- Works with
the business units to identify areas of efficiencies that can be gained by
better use of technology.
- Analyze,
develop, and implement major systems.
- Meet with
users to design systems or interfaces for existing systems.
- Oversee work
being done by team members and ensures that project on time delivery is at or
above industry levels.
- Emphasizes
customer service and quality to the development team.
- Key member
of the Technology management team.
- Responsible
for operation and capital budget creation and management.
- Interview
job candidates when there are openings as needed.
- Ability to
work 45 to 55+ hours per week.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s
Degree in a related field from a four-year college or university. Six or more
years related experience or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to
read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,
customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to
calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply
concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to
define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete
variables. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and
procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish
goals.
Other
Skills and Abilities:
Must be
proficient in knowledge of Data Base design, SQL, MS Sequel, Oracle, BI, Data
Warehousing techniques and Web Services.
