February 02, 2012
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (February 2, 2012) – CRST International, Inc. one of the largest privately-held transportation companies in the country, today announced that Andrew Hadland has joined the company and will become the new president of STI (Specialized Transportation, Inc.) later this year.
He has been appointed to the executive team for STI effective February 7, and will work closely over the next several months with current president Ian Nicolson, who will be retiring from STI in the coming year. In the interim, Hadland will serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the CRST operating company and will report to Nicolson.
Hadland will assume immediate responsibility for all STI business operations in the U.S. and Canada, including the High Value Products, Home Express, Transportation Management and Logistics Programs.
With more than 14 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, Hadland brings expertise that fits the needs of one of the most diversified transportation companies in North America as CRST International continues to expand its services and revenues.
Hadland steadily moved up in the ranks of Exel, one of the leading contract logistics providers in the Americas. In his last position there he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Managed Transportation business, a $700 million business unit.
Prior to joining Exel, Hadland spent eight years with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and London.
Hadland holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Management from City University, London, as well as an MBA from Imperial College, London.
“Andrew’s broad experience in business analysis and strategy, client development and supply chain logistics will be a great asset to STI and the entire CRST International family of companies,” said CRST president and CEO Dave Rusch. “His expertise precisely fits our goals of increasing diversification of services while growing revenues in a debt-free corporate environment.”
CRST International is the sixth largest truckload carrier in the United States.
